Join us at Atelier Sunhouse for a hands-on workshop where we’ll create our own personalized journals from scratch using recycled paper and traditional Japanese binding techniques.
Led by Paper Street co-founder Ipek Ozbay, the session introduces the fundamentals of journal binding, from selecting papers and composing covers to stitching and assembling the final piece. Along the way, we'll explore how making something with our hands can help us slow down, reconnect with our creativity, and turn a blank page into a space for reflection.
We will save some time to focus on accessible journaling techniques through intention-setting explorations, creative expression, and everyday writing rituals. The workshop will end with a quiet journaling moment inspired by a shared prompt.
There are 15 spaces available. The fee for the evening is $45 per person which includes all materials and supplies. No experience necessary.
Located at the shop, 888 Linden Ave, Suite A (**Please note we are located upstairs—no elevator), Carpinteria, CA 93013
Please join us! Sign up on our email list if you’d like to learn about future events via our irregular newsletter (just scroll to bottom of page).
