ATELIER SUNHOUSE is a creative studio and consultancy based in Carpinteria, California. A.S. delivers concepts, creation, and curation for environments and experiences in need of the human touch—full of feeling, mindful intention, and real depth. The studio is driven by the enduring search for beauty, truth, delight, kindness, fuller aliveness, human connection, curiosity, and cosmic wonder.

A.S. is the combined energy of Julie Pointer Adams and Ryan Adams, partners in both work and life. After collaborating on personal projects for a decade, ATELIER SUNHOUSE is their holistic answer to the question: How can we make our everyday experiences and encounters (and those of others) feel freer, more spirited, and more creatively alive? Their collective years of experience and diverse areas of expertise make them uniquely capable for meeting a variety of challenges. Julie’s ongoing work as an author and photographer is built on years working across the creative sphere: developing Kinfolk Magazine’s global event series as Community Director in Kinfolk’s early years; freelance art direction and styling; solo-running an independent floral studio; masterminding and building creative installations for shops; interior consulting for private clients; shooting for private and commercial clients. Ryan’s former career as a junior high math teacher have honed his creative problem-solving skills, logistical prowess, practical know-how, and ability to remain calm under pressure.
